With bowls continuing to enjoy an international profile and growing interest in the sport across markets including Asia, the investment will help Glassbond meet increasing demand while strengthening its ability to serve customers around the world.
Established in St Helens in 1978, Glassbond has a long history of manufacturing in the area. The latest investment reflects the company’s commitment to modernising its operations, increasing capacity and supporting its long-term future within the local community.
Michael Cordell, Managing Director of Glassbond, said:
“Continued investment in new machinery is key to the long-term future of Glassbond. By improving our production capabilities and maximising the efficiency of our operations, we can continue to grow the business, support our customers around the world and maintain our commitment to the local community here in St Helens.”
The investment forms part of Glassbond’s ongoing focus on strengthening its manufacturing capabilities and positioning the business for sustainable growth in both established and emerging international markets.
Alongside its investment in new machinery, Glassbond has also diversified its Sauereisen high temperature ceramic materials range into the defence and aerospace sectors. Engineered to perform reliably across extreme temperature ranges and in demanding operating environments, these specialist materials are well suited to applications where durability, thermal resistance and consistent performance are critical.
