Proven Durability in the Harshest of Environments.

Precision Materials for Demanding Applications.

For almost 40 years, Glassbond has manufactured high performance materials under licence from Sauereisen Inc delivering proven resistance to heat, corrosion and abrasion in demanding marine environments. These advanced materials provide reliable protection and long term performance for critical maritime applications.

Products

Air Set Materials.

These materials require no chemical catalyst, making them ideal for on-site repairs. Typical curing time is between 18-24 hours, but this can be reduced by heat application. Having characteristics such as being fireproof, gas proof and withstanding salt water corrosion, these products can provide versatility for any marine production process.

Suited to thin applications.

Chemical Set Materials.

These materials can withstand temperatures from cryogenic levels to 1600°C making them ideal for the extremities faced by the marine industry. This group of products have a quick cure time of between 30-90 minutes and can harden in a larger mass or thickness, making them suitable for thicker potting or casting applications.

Types of Applications

From bonding and sealing to potting, encapsulation and protective coatings, our high performance materials are engineered to perform in high corrosion and harsh environments. These are some of the applications that the products can be used in:

Exhaust Manifolds & Stacks

These products can withstand high temperatures, ensuring that any joints or repaired cracks maintain engine efficiency and safety.

Temperature Sensors & Probes

The bonding properties of our materials can ensure thermal stability, vibration resistance and provides electrical insulation.

Pumps, Valves & Pipework

These materials can be used to coat against saltwater corrosion or to repair existing infrastructure.

Boilers & Thermal Systems

The heat resistance within these products makes them ideal for sealing refractory linings and repairing cracks in high temperature insulation.

Lighting & Sensor Insulation

The high dielectric strength and corrosion resistancy of these materials makes them ideal for potting and encapsulating.

Fire Protection

The heat resistance of these products makes them a highly effective bonding solution for fire resistant panels, as well as for sealing pipes and cable penetrations.
