High Performance Materials Engineered for Automotive Excellence.

Trusted by Industry. Driven by Innovation.

Glassbond has been manufacturing High Performance Materials under licence from Sauereisen Inc for almost 40 years. Their proven uses for coating, sealing and potting have shown their versatility in an ever adapting industry.

Products

Air Set Materials.

These materials require no chemical catalyst, making them ideal for assembly line processes. Typical curing time is between 18-24 hours, but this can be reduced by heat application. Being fireproof, gas proof and withstanding high temperatures these products are ideal coating materials for the automotive industry.

Suited to thin applications.

Chemical Set Materials.

These materials can withstand temperatures up to 1600°C  and have a quick cure time of between 30-90 minutes. Offering strong dielectric properties and the ability to withstand thermal cycling, makes them highly effective for thicker potting or casting applications.

Suited to thick applications.

Types of Applications

From bonding, sealing, potting to coating, the versatility of our range means that we will have a solution to your engineering needs. These are some of the applications that our products have been proven to work in:

Exhausts & Heat Management Systems

Ideal for sealing joints or repairing cracks in exhaust manifolds, downpipes and mufflers.

Catalytic Converters & DPF Filters

The shock absorption qualities and thermal consistencies of our materials make them suitable for bonding and sealing within these components.

Brake Components

These materials can be used in the manufacture of ceramic brake pads, and as an anti-squeal shim to help manage vibrations and in high heat conditions.

Sensor Mounting

The high temperature resistance of these materials makes them ideal for bonding lambda (02 sensor) or temperature probes to exhaust pipes and engine blocks.

Bonding Thermocouples

The volume stability and heat resistance properties of these products makes them highly effective at bonding and potting thermocouples.

Turbo Housing & EGR Systems

The heat resistance capacity and ability to withstand thermal cycling makes these materials ideal for thread sealing and gap filling.
